The Community Renewal Society is metropolitan Chicago, faith-based organization that strives to empower people to dismantle racism and poverty to build just communities. CRS offers The Interfaith Network, The Senior Ministries Network, The Youth Advocacy Project, CATALYST News Magazine as well as The Chicago Reporter.
First Church of Lombard is proud to be part of a statewide, social justice, faith-based constituency, exploring the impact of the criminal justice system on citizens, families, communities, and Illinois’ budget while exploring alternative ways to control crime, rebuild lives and save tax dollars.

Love Christian Clearinghouse
LOVE Christian Clearinghouse TM is a not-for-profit, non-denominational ministry in eastern DuPage County that links and networks churches to bring Christ's love to people in need.
LOVE attempts to address the crises and hardships that individuals face. Referrals are made to other service agencies within DuPage County, which LOVE partners with.
The goal is to work with individuals in need to come to a resolution that will help them emerge from this time of need.

What is First Things First?
Believing that it is more faithful and effective to address issues of needs early in the process, First Things First seeks to meet the emergency needs of those in our community who are the smallest and the most vulnerable. We are a grass-roots operation forming partnerships with others in our community who understand the needs of our children. We opened our doors in January 1999 and have continued our outreach with supplies, donations & support from many kind & generous people in our community.
Those eligible for help:
Children ages 0 to 3 years living in Villa Park or Lombard
Various assistance available: Baby basics, - diapers, baby wipes, clothing closet, formula, cereal, lotions, shampoo, soap & other necessities
Partnerships with: Food pantries, clothing closets, Walk-in-Ministry of Lombard & Villa Park, etc.
Referrals for: Financial assistance, medical and dental care, etc.

What is Walk In Ministry?
The Walk In Ministry of Lombard and Villa Park provides compassionate, effective and non-duplicated emergency assistance to the people in need in our community. LVPWIM has been a successful outreach to the members of Lombard and Villa Park since 1998. The key to our success has been the active support of area organizations and congregations and especially the powerful commitment of concerned and compassionate individuals supporting our work.

Families of Lombard and Villa Park Schools
Members of Lombard and Villa Park Congregations
PADS guests with a referral from a PADS caseworker
Various assistance available: Food, transportation, personal care products
Partnerships & referrals: Local food pantries, clothing closets and other emergency assistance programs
"Providing Housing Solutions for People in Crisis"
First Church of Lombard has been a partner with DuPage PADS for over twenty years. First Church provides overnight shelter every Tuesday night for men, women and children that would otherwise be living on the streets.
On Tuesday nights, numerous volunteers give of themselves from 6 PM to 7:30 AM. First Church of Lombard is the "Host Site" and is responsible for "staffing" the 5th Tuesday of the month. Volunteers should e-mail

Northern Illinois Food Bank
"To Create a Hunger-Free Northern Illinois"
NIFB's goal is to provide nutritious food to all those in need through their own efforts and those of their non-profit partners. The Outreach House has been a partner with NIFB since March 2005. This has allowed us to purchases items for First Things First and to provide the Mobile Food Pantry to all of the people served at The Outreach House, as well as others in our community.
The Mobile Food Truck is at First Church of Lombard on the 3rd Saturday of most months at 10 AM.

People's Resource Center
"Meeting Our Community's Needs"
People's Resource Center exists to respond to basic human needs, to promote digity and justice, and to create a future of hope and opportunities for the residents in DuPage County. First Church of Lombard is home to a PRC Computer Literacy Center. Every Wednesday night, residents of DuPage attend a free computer class in Keyboard & Mouse, Computer Basics, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Internet/E-mail.
